That's a great take on the Obama phenomenon. That's exactly the strategy that he's pursued, except it's not really a strategy.

I've said many times that Obama has a unique ability to speak to the cynicism in American toward politics, to present himself someone who has felt the same cynicism, but has rejected it in favor of hope and working to change the system.

It's pretty amazing stuff, really.
